So We went to 99.7 Joy FM radio station the other night and hung out with one of Ghanas most popular DJ. DJ Black. it was so much fun. He plays alot of amrican hip hop/Rap. that place is crazy. All these big time hip hop singers we from ghana were stopping in. DJ BLack had us do some jingles for him. It was quite funny! After his radio show which ended at midnight we headed over to his club called boomerang. It was so strange becasue it felt like I was in the states ata club. Ended up that Batman nor Brandy were there, But this other guy Tinny who is big in ghana was there and another girl from the UK. Also the winner from Big Brother Africa was there. It was so strange. yet fun. We danced all night long. and didn’t get home til 5 in the mornin!

Well it’s rain now. HARD! and it has been for the past 30 min and doesn’t look like it will be ending anytime soon. guess i’ll hang out here for awhile!

Hello everyone. I must apologize again for my horrible email! We just got back from the Volta Region yesterday. After our stay in hohoe we went to a farm right outside of Ho. We Called it Rasta Camp. It was run by a bunch of rastafari guys! The one that showed use around an took care of us while we were there was named Papa Nante. He is so cool! When we arrived we found that part of the road had been washed out due to the rain here so we had to hike in. The place is so nice. It’s made up of a bunch of bungalows with thatch roofs. All the paths were paved in fan shaped sea shells. And there was an abundance of hammocks to relax in. The place has no running water or electricity so we used gas lanterns at night. It just added to ambiance of the place. They also served the best food we have had yet on the trip. There are not towns nearby for 30 miles so they have their own garden of tomatoes, onions, peppers, kasava, and many other fruits and veggies. It was so lush and beautiful flowers everywhere. It was right on lake Volta so we went swimming in the lake a few times. It was the most beautiful place i ahve been. I could stay there forever. it was so relaxing. They have acers and acers of land where their main crops are Mangos and Coconuts. the first day we were there Nante took us out to the mango grove and let us plant some new mango trees. It was so much fun. He gave us a mango to take home with us, and I must say it’s the biggest mango I’ve ever seen. i probaly weighs 4 pounds. I was happy he gave it to us but I didn’t want to add that extra weight to my bag to pack out. haha

Tonight we are going to a club here called boomerang. theis guy Batman from ghana is going to be there and also BRANDY! haha so weird. I get to go to a Brandy show! We had to go out and buy new shoes becasue we can’t get in with our Flip flops. I’m excited. well i have to run but I’ll tlak to ou all later.

Man do i miss high speed internet! Right now I’m in the staying In Hohoe ( ho way) in the volta region. it’s quite nice. It’s so much greener here than the dusty and trash strewn streets in Accra. Jungle all around us. today we went to the tallest waterfall in west africa. We did some swimming and tried to swim under the waterfall itself. haha It was like trying to swim into a hurricane. well ai’ve never been ina hurricane but if I was to guess thats what I would imagine it to be like. It pounded on us so hard and the wind it crated was so intense. After that we went to a Monkey sanctuary down th road about an hour. The ride home was so awful. We had to take a taxi back but our friend Dela came with us on the trip, so we hat to pack all of us in a small car. I was in the front sitting on the E brake for 2 hours on horrible roads. the driver was swerving all over to avoid pot holes. then It started to down pour. I didn’t think we were going to make it back. but we did but not with out mt butt in so much pain. We are heading to a Eco farm tomorrow And then we will head back to accra on friday. We were panning on going north to tamale but opted not to since the drive is 11 hours and after our last bus ride home from cape coast we decided against it and oped to come here instead. the days have been quit cool wich i’ll take gladly. well I’ll write again soon

I hate the internet here. Or should I say at the cafe here at the “top link cafe” I won’t let me check my hotmail account! go figure. Stupid place.

Hmm…whats new? Well we went out in Madina the other night to the Flemish Castle. (pronounce the ‘t”) Lets just say we had a bit too much gin to drink. Katie was dancing crazy and our friend Mutala told her to stop becasue she was making guys crazy down you know where. haha We had a taling to the next day by Kaba. he made us pour it awaythe next morning so we had to take more gin and pour libation. not waht I wanted to do after a night of drinking.

So a few days later We went out to lunch at the golden tulip. a SUPER nice hotel here. it felt weird being htere. So out of place. It was crazy expensive even for US dollars. of course it was ll paid for by our friend Kwame’s father. But as we were getting food a waiter there stopped us and said. Oh I know you…… We had never ssen this guy before ever. he procceeded to say yeah last time I saw you , you were so Happy. I said he must ahve mistaken us for some one else because we don’t stay there. and he said I know I saw you at the Flemish castle…….oh god……we already have a reputation here. So bad…. horrible..
well i have to run i’ll write more later when I find a better internet cafe!

So I’m back in ghana and things are as weird as they were when I was here last year. Everyone here is so nice n]and I miss that so much. We are staying in guest house which is quite strange since WE THOUGHT we were stayin with our friend Kwame’s parents house but, his cousin martin brought us to a guest house instead. We are kind of confused if we have to pay or not. We didn’t think we were but now little signs are confusing us.. if we do have to pay we need to get out becasue it’s an expensive place.

We have just been traveling around saying hi to old friends. they are all so surprised that we are back again. I love srprising people! . Yesterday are friend Kaba tought us to carve drums and then later that day we went to our other friend Mutala’s to make Fufu. a local dish. It just didn’t taste as good when we made it.

oh by the way We came back to out hotel the other night and Vikki the woman at the front desk told us we had some visitors come buy. Aimee katie and I all looked at eachother. Who would ahve stopped by. Noone knows where we are staying. she said John the baptist came by. what! he was some guy that we met at a bat the night before. How in the hell did he find us! crazy. Hope he DOES”T stop by again but I be he does. plus his mane4 is John the Baptist. cant trust a guy with that name haha.

Well we are haning out in Accra until this weekend and then we are goignt o travel up north. Andrew comes in on thursday. I hope he has fun here. haha well I’ll writ more later.

So I leave tonight to go to ghana! I’m really excited but all of a sudden I feel like something is holding me back. like part of me doesn’t want me to go I don’t know what is making me feel this way. It’s so strange.

Now All I have to do I wait til tonight to leave and then sit on a plane for 17 hours or so…..blah….but at leat it’s british airways. they are the best to fly with when going international!

This weekend was a whirlwind of fun. A bunch of my friends graduated and it was party party party! I have to say I’m going to miss them all. I know not all are leaving soon but the time will come when we all have to go our own ways and I’ll miss the convince of having them close by. Snif Snif! Anyway on the bright side I’m leaving to go back to Africa in just 2 days. And I have to say I’m not ready to go. I haven’t done anything to get ready yet. Last week all I want to do was pack ant I told myself “Slow down, Wait” So I did now I’ll probably push it to the last minute. Haha

So last night my sister and I went to find my great uncle’s market that he had in the 1940’s down in Denver. It used to be THE HANGOUT! and it was called Westerkamp Grocery and Meat Market. It was such a a happening place that the guy that bought it from my Great Uncle Wanted to buy the name too! So it’s still there. Not in the best of neighborhoods any more. It used to be in the predominately Italian Neighborhood. Last night we called out dad to tell him where we were. I responded by saying, “Get out of that neighborhood now!” haha here

So I got my passport back in the mail today. Apparently my old visa is good for 3 years, multiple entry. So I got my $50 back!!!!!! WOO HOO! Now I can go get my hair cut!

One thing I hate about living in house is having to take care of the yard. Well I guess it’s nice to get outside I just wish I had equipment that functions. Right now I’m Mowing the lawn. But our mower seems to not want to work after the bag gets full. So I have to wait 10 min then try it again. Going at this rate I’ll get the yard done by 8pm. AHH!!!! So in my ten min Breaks I’m watching “The Face on the Milk Carton” I read that book in Elementry school!

So I was just thinking about how I used to go to so many concerts. I would spend so much money on going to diffrent shows it was rediculous. And buying CD’s for that matter. Within the last year I an count how many shows I have been to and music I have bought on one hand. Sad! I blame it on me being poor and the fact that my 2 concert buddies are not around. Well actually only one. Abby transfered to another school and Meghan, Well….. I thought she moved and she thought the same for me, when actually we are both still here in boulder. haha It’s hard to find people like them that like all the music I do and that want to go to shows.I miss going to shows. It’s so much fun. I feel like I’m out of music scene loop. I needa job so i can get money to go to shows again!
