So this weekend was the Boulder Creek Festival. My parents came down and took my sister and I out to breakfast. Then we headed down to the festival. I wish it was a nicer day. It was cold and rainy but we stuck it out! I found some purple Indian slippers and had to buy them. They are so cute! I’m a sucker for shoes. haha there were a lot of great artists (a lot of bad ones too). All that walking around made me tired so we went home and my sister and I wound up watching the first 12 episodes of Sex in the City. Lame I know but it’s so addicting.
Monday my sister and I ran the BolderBOULDER! 10k, 6.2 miles. I have only run about 3 time since I was sick in October with Mono. My sister has been running a lot and had just started running every morning. I knew I was in trouble. I warned her we might have to walk a lot because I wasn’t in running shape. But some how I only walked for 15min the whole race. We finished in 1 hour 20 min. Damn good I must say for not running a bunch. I did WAY BETTER than I was expecting. The weather was a little chilly but good weather to run in. The race kicked my butt and I was out for the count for the rest of the day. Problem now is my hip joints, quads, and Hamstrings hurt SO BAD!!!!! I can’t walk. I mean I can, I just look like an old person shuffling their feet. Horrible. So I just stayed home, stretched, ate the food out of the cool snack bag they age us after the race and watched the rest of Sex in the City. I took a HOT bath hoping it would help loosen my muscles but it just made me want to pass out because it was so hot. I read a little, then ventured out to the Market to get some food. I really didn’t buy anything, which I’m regretting now. I was in bed by 10.
Check it out one of my old friends from Greeley is in a new Ashton Kutcher reality show.

So today was a lazy day. Kinda nice. I haven’t had one of those in awhile. I got up and did a little cleaning. Rode my bike and picked up some sushi! yum! Went home and sat on the deck, read awhile a proceeded to fall asleep. Not good. my knees are now on FIRE!! Radiating heat! I hate getting burned. On the bright side it is the only thing that got burnt. SKIN CANCER RIGHT HERE PEOPLE!!! I hate fair skin sometimes. My sister and I went and saw Madagascar. It was a good funny lighthearted movie. I still want to go see Star Wars. Who wants to go with me? Huh huh?

So every time I ride the bus (now I bike since the weather is nice and my fake bus pass was stolen) there is a skinny man, in his 40’s or 50’s that sits directly behind the driver. He looks like he is stuck in a time warp from the 50’s. His dark brown hair is cut in an army crew cut style, he wears large round tortoise shell rimed glasses that have the coke bottle lenses that slide off his nose. Occasionally he will place his index finger on the bridge to push them back up. He wears a plain navy blue canvas jacket, Levi’s’ and old school generic skate shoes. He sits on the edge of the seat so he can watch out the front window and holds his brown paper bag lunch like a chipmunk. Delicately his long fingers grasp the top of the bag and he holds it in front of his chest never letting it touch his lap. He sometimes has outburst and starts swatting at the back of his head as if there were a swarm of bees around. He grunts loudly trying to say something but one can never quite make it out. He is in his own world. Never talks or makes eye contact with anyone. I always wondered where he was coming from and where he going the same time everyday. I get off at a stop before him so I never knew where he was headed. That is until I was at the library on my lunch break and as I was perusing the music I heard a familiar noise. I poked my head around the bookshelf and there he was restocking books! HE WORKS AT THE LIBRAIRY! After 8months the mystery has been solved!
So I got Dance, Dance, Dance by Haruki Murakami. I just can’t get enough of his books. I just read what Hiromi said about him and I’d have to agree. Somehow there is a connection between his characters and me. I can’t explain it. All I know is I want to read more! Haha I had something else to say but I can’t remember now.

You Save BIG Money, You Save BIG Money when you shop Menards! Oh man for all of you Mid-Westerners that know Menards you are lucky! I went to Nebraska to visit the grandparents this weekend. We were privileged to go to Menards. Only Charline understands! haha. Quick trip there and back. Wait No, not quick! LONG drive there, Quick stay, LONG drive back. But we had a nice car to ride in which made it bearable. I don’t know if I’m too fond of the Mid-West. It’s like a whole other world. Kinda a turn off.
Went to K-Lar’s tonight and played some Trivial Pursuit! Quite fun. It’s interesting how you want someone in your life so bad and you know it probably won’t happen and then the unthinkable happens and they some how presence becomes more and more and they don’t go away. it’s kinda nice but weird that It happened that way.
I want to get a new Haruki Murakami book. I was enjoying them so much but then I made myself read a new author. I read Middlesex, which was good, but for some reason I had troubles getting myself to pick it up to read. Once I did it was fine but that initial pick up was hard. It took me awhile to get it read. I think I’ll go pick one up tomorrow on my lunchbreak.
My new favorite drink to have in the morning is a mood mender! YOu should try it. Steamed soy milk, One green tea bag, and Honey! Tasty!!

Monday I was working down in the frame shop. No too busy, just reorganizing things. Now, yesterday is when the problem started. First thing in the morning I was to cut a 2 mats for some artwork. I proceed to cut the first mat and what happens? I do it all wrong. So I re check my measurements and cut again. Mess that one up too. I no longer have any of that mat board left so I move on the next one. What happens.?…..you guessed it, screwed that one up too. I order new mat board. I was no longer allowed to touch the mat cutter. Next thing…. I slap some 20+ awards into some frames. Done and done. good work! Go to lunch. I am now allowed to touch the mat cutter again. Have 4 simple mats to cut, and yes, mess up 3 out of the 4. Luckily we have extra. Fix the problem and move on. What else could go wrong? Well I was trimming a photograph and cut into the image. HAHA! GREAT! I wish I knew what my problem was ,……seriously!
I got to work today and tell Chad that “Today is a better day I can feel it!” I cut a quadruple opening double mat and it looked perfect! Things were going great until after lunch. I was cutting a piece of glass and nicked the tip if my ring finger. Bleeding, I get a Band-Aid. After cutting the glass I went to place it on top of the artwork. It was a larger piece of glass so Chad told me to trust myself and use the pads of my fingers and push in and lift it. It’s a trick he uses to you don’t dirty up the other side of the glass. I trusted myself too much and sliced all my fingers on my left hand except the ring finger since it had a Band-Aid on it. Now I have b-aids on all my fingers. Then randomly my heal started to bleed. Stigmata? Ok down the drain it goes. Trim an image wrong. Miscalculate size of another. Frames don’t fit. Reorder. I think I need some time off! NOW!
So a friend just wrote how someone doesn’t get mentioned in his blog. I don’t either. Then I thought about it …….there is a correlation between the people(s) that are not bloged. HAHA
So I found this Journal by Dan Eldon which is SO COOL! You should check it out if you can. His background story is awesome. Very Inspiring.

So Today I’m going to go visit my friend/professors wife. She is so beautiful and their 1yr old son is SO CUTE! He is the best kid I have ever seen. Never cries, walks like he has been doing it his whole life, he is very independent. He is like a little man. I’ll post pictures later. I met her in Ghana the first time I was there. I was actually at their wedding and was in charge of the pictures. HA. I’m excited to see her but the thing is hanging out Ghanaians becomes a long day event. It’s not a few hour visit, even if you try. Hopefully I can get down to the fabric shop in Denver, But probably not.
I’m working on a travel book for my friends for their trip to Ghana. It’s so much fun! I can’t wait till it’s done. I have to go buy a new cord for my scanner. Maybe I’ll do that today too……… if I can get over there!

For some reason It’s been hard for me to Blog. I wait so long in between than I start to feel bad. Hmm….lets see. …..I’m no longer singing in the band becasue I’m leaving in August to move to New York so they are finding someone to take my place. I’m a little bummed but happy to no longer deal with their unorganization. It was stressful. I finally finished the costumes for the dance performance that I was making. They turned out well and the show was great. I have something else I want to say but I can’t. weird situations…..haha.
I went home for mothers day and saw 42nd St. It was fun. Makes me want to tap dance. Also, exciting news!!!! I found an African Fabric Shop in Denver! Time to make more stuff!!!
